Save Your Box Tops Over the Summer!

Box Tops

Bringing in box tops is an easy way to help our school with many products you are probably already purchasing for your family. Just clip out the box tops and bring them to deposit at school! Click here for more information.

Can You Help Out with the Huff Website?

Looking for a way to help at Huff but need a flexible gig? The Huff website is maintained solely by parent volunteers, and we need to build our team to keep the website going strong into next year and beyond. The only requirement is interest and enthusiasm; but if you have any skills at writing, working with photos and graphics, desktop publishing, or coding (HTML, CSS or PHP) that could be helpful too!

We can teach any interested volunteer to help out in ways big or small. Roles are flexible based on your skills and availability, and the work can usually be done at your convenience. If you're interested or have any questions, contact Shannon Schwartz or David Burden; both can be reached by email at webmaster@huffpta.org.

Help Out with Project Cornerstone Next Year

Hats off to our 58+ parents for being incredible Project Cornerstone Volunteers (PCV) this year! We are currently signing up readers for the 2014-15 school year. If you are interested in joining the Project Cornerstone team in the fall, please email Hera and Brooke at cornerstone@huffpta.orgCommitment is 3 hours per month (1 hour training at Huff, first Tuesday morning of the month, 1 hour prepping for class, 1 hour presenting in class). The program involves 2-3 parents going into the classroom, reading a specified book or discussing a predetermined topic and leading a short activity or discussion. Topics include responsibility, respect, kindness and trust.

Our “Huff is a Cornerstone School” banner that hangs on our back gate is a great reminder that Huff values the philosophies of Project Cornerstone - being an UPstander, saying something if we see something and swimming away from negative people and situations. Remember to keep filling buckets over the summer! Click here to learn more about Project Cornerstone.
