Huff Elementary is being honored this week in Washington, D.C. at the National Blue Ribbon Schools conference. On Tuesday Huff formally receives its National Blue Ribbon Schools recognition in an award ceremony at the conference. Principal Heidi Smith and Huff teacher Susan Chesley are attending the conference and receiving the award.
Our proud principal Ms. Smith was also honored as one of seven recipients of the prestigious 2015 Terrel H. Bell Award for Outstanding School Leadership presented by the U.S. Department of Education. Way to go, Heidi!
Celebrations will be forthcoming for all of the Huff Community to celebrate these great honors. Go Hawks!
The 18th Annual Huff PTA Auction was a huge success! We had an amazing evening on Nov. 7 and raised over $84,000 to support numerous program and equipment needs at Huff. Thanks to all the volunteers, parents, teachers, staff, businesses and community members that contributed and worked so hard to pull it off. And special thanks to our Auction Chair Beth Davis for all her work coordinating the event.
There are still a number of items available online, including goods and services and parties for both kids and adults. If you still need to pick up any items purchased, you can find Beth Davis outside and around the school office before and after school, or email her to arrange for pick-up.
In case you misplace the emailed version that comes out every Wednesday, you can find the current and recent issues of Huff n Stuff here on our website. Don't miss out on the important news and announcements!
New this year! Huff PTA encourages all Huff parents to sign up for Konstella; it's a great way to connect with other parents and stay up-to-date with PTA events and activities. Visit the Konstella website and click on "Request to Join."
