Fun and Fit!

On May 17, Huff students were reminded that being fit doesn't mean boring exercises. On this year's annual Fitness Day, they got a work-out through games and dance.

Principal Smith joined in the fun, doing the cha-cha slide.
Keeping Hydrated

And the folks at El Camino YMCA helped make the day a success through their donation of a water bottle for each student.
The kids were able to try out Huff's new water filling station, located in the lunch room. Now students can easily refill their water bottles during recess and lunch. Thank you, Huff PTA, Principal Smith and Laura Norris for bringing this to Huff!

Congratulations, Honor Choir

Congratulations, Honor Choir, on a successful Choral Fest and all-around great year.

Students Square Off
in Inaugural Debate Tourney

More than 100 South Bay students competed in an inaugural elementary school debate tournament hosted by Huff at the end of April. Students paired off to argue a myriad of topics in the parliamentary type of debate tournament. In parliamentary debates, students do not know the topics in advance, so they cannot cram for the debate ahead of time and must think on their toes. The debate contestants' parents and other adult relatives and friends served as judges.
