Project Cornerstone Volunteer Readers

Project Cornerstone, an initiative of the Silicon Valley YMCA, trains parents, adult relatives and adult friends to lead literature-based classroom discussions for the Asset Building Champions (ABC) program.

Project Cornerstone's ABC program:

  • Focuses on Respect, Tolerance, Integrity, Peaceful conflict resolution, Honesty, Caring, Friendship, and more
  • Students learn tools to become UPstanders, deal with negative social behaviors, and enhance social competencies
  • Builds a common language for a caring, positive school climate
